Traditionally a Christmas favorite, Clementines are at their peak in November and December. Clementines are a cross between a Mandarin orange and a Seville orange, which makes them much smaller and sweeter than other tangerine varieties.
Fresh clementines will be bright, shiny and a vibrant orange. Ripe clemetines can be refrigerated to extend the life of the fruit.
Clemetines are easy to peel and have small segments so they are great for kids and for lunches. Use clementine segments for a citrus twist on a salad.
