The grill can transfrom not only meats and vegetables but fruit, into delicious dishes. The peach has become a controversial fruit in terms of grilling. Many thoroughly enjoy grilling peaches while others can’t quite grasp the concept.

Here is how grilled peaches will become your favorite summer treat!

What peaches should be used for grilling?

The best peaches for grilling are freestone peaches because the pit can be easily removed. If you don’t have access to freestone peaches, any of your favorite variety of peaches will work.

Peach Prepping?

When grilling you’ll want to look for firm peaches. Ripe peaches have more sugar, which will burn quickly with the heat of the grill.

How to grill peaches?

Peaches should be grilled in halves to avoid overcooking and easier handling. They should be lightly brushed with olive oil (or preferred oil) to prevent sticking. Peaches are best cooked over medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Finished peaches will be tender, but not falling apart.  

How to serve and eat grilled peaches?

Grilled peaches can be served with an array of sweet or savory toppings. They can serve as breakfast, snack, or dessert.
